In the days of 1976 Christian Hoehne founded a company, which dealt with an produced hand made lokomotives. One of the first tasks was production of hand made lokomotives for the company E.P. Lehmann-Nuremberg. In the following years 7 engine - series were made. They were consecutively numbered and limited to 100 pieces for each series. These lokomotives with quite interesting axle dispositions were narrow-gauge models. Unfortunately, to match them, regular treats were missing. When you divide the regular gauge of 1435 mm, by the federal railways, throught the standart 1: 2,5 you get a model gauge of 64 mm. That it was- the new gauge. To name the new gauge and is new model- series, we looked for a word refer- ring to this new size of model railways. To be international we turned to Latin and looked up “Großbahn”. “ Groß” in Latin is Magnus, therefore “Magnus-Bahn”. This should be the new expression for the regular treat of the gauge 2. The first models were made quite simple, because we lacked the experience about the need and the wishes of the customers for this gauge. Because the interest was surprisingly high and the customers called for a steam engine we decided to introduce a common steam engine series. The production series 50 was the right model. This steam engine is very popular model-railwaymen and collectors. In 1983, by request of an American distributor, engines and carriages were produced for this market. Besides of this little deviations the supply of the ”Magnus-Bahn” was expanded steadily during the last 10 years. Our efforts are great to carry out quality-and detail improvements regularly. The shown catalogue is just a candid shot of our current supply. Shown narrow-gauge models are absolutely able to be used with the LGB Bahn. Because of a licence by the company Lehmann Nuremberg we are allowed to use the original LGB coupling. For the production of the carriage chassis frames and engine frames we use electrolytic galvanised sheet steel with the same quality features common in the car industry, like AUDI. The casings and frames are precise - weld after the stamping and embossing. Further equipment details are completed by castings and plastics. Important to us is the fact that all vehicles, locomotives and transmissions are fitted out with high quality bearings and engines. Therefore we guarantee excellent running features. The vehicles are sprayed with plastic lacquer after the primering. Several distributed models are already aged. If you want aged models in general, please set it out in your order. Some further hints: We are pleased to age your Lehmann - models in a high quality way, on request. We have an excellent reputation among experts for this. Your Magnus team
